I want everyone to turn in your Bible to first Samuel chapter 8 starting with verse one. I’ve been preaching this message for over 30 years, but there’s more to the story than what most preachers preach I want you to look at the first part of verse one. And it says when Samuel grew old stop right there. This story is in reflection of or a reflection of what just happened in the United States. What did the people that was in power say about Joe Biden? So we can say when Joe Biden grew old stop right there. They said the same thing that the people said, that the children of Israel had said about Samuel. He was too old for the job they thought and they said we want us a king so we can be like everybody else. And so Samuel went to God in prayer and the Lord said give them what they want you say God give you what you want, but what you want might not be exactly what you need. But you see God will give you the desires of your heart. God may let you have something even though it’s not in his will. Are y’all following what I’m saying? So in verse four it says so all the elders of Israel gathered together. Press pause, all the Democratic leadership got together, OK let’s resume reading the verse. They said to him you are too old stop it’s funny how history repeats itself, isn’t it. And then in verse six it says, give us a king to lead us. And the Lord told Samuel to tell them all the things that the king was going to do unto them an inverse 19 it says no they said we won’t as a king over us so that we can be like everybody else. So the Lord said give it to them and tell them because of what you want you done lost what you had. (Bad english I know) Now let’s back up to verse 18 and it says, and when that day comes that the king does all these things to you. You will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day! Why because you have chosen what you wanted Over the will of the Lord. So because of what you wanted, you’re getting ready to lose what you had. There are consequences for the things that are desires of your heart.

Now it flashed forward to the New Testament to when Jesus rode the donkey into town, and it says that as Jesus entered the city, the people were crying hosanna, which does not mean praise the Lord it means save us. They were saying, save us from the Roman Empire. And then it says that they lay down palm branches in representation to Maccabees . The Jewish people thought that Jesus was supposed to be the hammer like Maccabees was. They thought that Jesus was supposed to take over the government! Hmmm does that sound familiar! The people in the United States are saying that Christianity should take over the government in the same way that the Jewish people thought that Jesus was supposed to take over the government. The Bible also says that when Jesus did not do what they wanted, he did not take over the government so when pilot brought him before the people and said, do you want Jesus or Barabbas and the people said, give us Barrabas! And that is exactly what has happened here in the United States of America. The people have rejected Christ. They have rejected his message and they have said give us Barabbas!

I want everybody to realize and understand what has just taken place in this country is nothing new! This has happened plenty of times throughout history. And the old saying goes if you don’t learn from history, we will be doomed to repeat it! Well, here we are one more time . So what are we gonna do? We proceed forward? And my answer and the answer that God has for you today is the same way as we have done all throughout history! We are going to go forward. We are going to continue to fight. We’re going to continue to bring fourth The kingdom of God through the message of Jesus Christ. we are going to encourage one another and we’re going to help one another. But I tell you what we’re not going to do we’re not gonna give up, we’re not gonna give in and we are not going to back up and quit! We’re going to stand together And see the salvation of God. But to all the others that cry for help the Lord is going to say to you the same thing he said back in Samuel‘s day, no, I’m not going to help you because it is you who have chosen your king!
